B. Anthony Stewart “Signal Hill” California Photograph
A forest of oil derricks makes a ghostly backdrop for a conversation in Signal Hill, California, in 1941.
Oradour-sur-Glane. A town in central France that was bombed on the 10th June 1944 during WWII. Since, the town has been re-built near by however the original bombed site still remains as a memorial and a reminder of the effects of war.
This photo was taken when I made a visit there back in 2008. I have edit it to try and recreate some of the photos I have seen of the town immediately after it was bombed. It was quite a haunting visit but certainly very memorable.
